COVID Update Summary(page updated 4/08/2021)
Climbing routes have been mapped out for Summit Camp 2021! (i.e. we are moving forward with plans for camp). The kids' camp leadership team has been diligently working on plans to make sure staff and kids are safe. This page will summarize what we have been working on, and it will likely grow as we put more together, so stay tuned. The staff is praying for you and the kids today! Stay safe. |
Registration and Attendance Caps
For 2021, because of the COVID pandemic, limited registration is available for Summit Camp.
In addition, we are not accepting walk-ins. Registration deadline is Friday, July 23. After that, we will be ensuring kids are appropriately assigned to small groups, cabins are properly cleaned, and rally space is appropriately set up.

The Basics |
Masks |
Meal TimesMeal times will be staggered to minimize interactions outside of color groups, and allow for social distancing. That staggering will include the color groups using only assigned doors and sides of the dining hall.
Camp Check-In ProceduresOn registration and drop-off day, we will not allow parents to enter any building - only staff and kids may enter. If weather does not allow outside check-in, it will be held in the Tabernacle.
Check-in on Tuesday morning (from 8-9am) will occur OUTSIDE the Tabernacle, weather permitting. Parents will make FOUR stops: 1) Nurse's desk to drop off meds. A temp check will be done here. This is the FIRST stop this year. 2) Registration table to check-in, pay (if there is a balance), and receive t-shirt. 3) Snack shop to add money to your child's snack shop account. 4) Drop-off as listed below, depending upon the ages of your child/children. Gold Group (kids entering grades 1-3) will be dropped off AND picked up at the snack shop (boys) and Crocker (girls). This is located just to the southwest of the Tabernacle. Silver Group (kids entering grades 3-6) will be dropped off AND picked up at the Tabernacle's EAST door. Purple Group (kids entering grades 7-8) will be dropped off at DAY MEMORIAL, located just to the north of the Tabernacle. |
As the campground is classified as a church, we have more wiggle room in implementing mask requirements. With that, though, comes a sense of responsibility to follow as best as we can. Therefore, we are taking the following actions:
Sleeping Arrangements
Camp Pick-up ProceduresPick-up will occur at the same location as drop-off at 11:30am Saturday. All children should be picked up by noon.
We will have NO CLOSING CEREMONY on Saturday. We normally have a short wrap-up where we highlight the teaching, announce next year's theme, and celebrate what God did during the week. We encourage parents to follow the Facebook page "Winding Creek Camp" for updates throughout the week. The camp director normally posts an update at the end of each day (sometimes quite late). Shirt signings will be limited to people at specific drop-off locations. |
